The effect of wealth have on money.

When people have money, they feel as if they don't have to do anything. According to Jacob, "The biggest curse wealth have on people is the illusion that you don't have to do much with your life (para. 4)." Based on her quote, she is seeing wealth as a curse and not as a prize. She is saying they the curse wealth have on people, makes them feel as if they don't have to do anything with their life, because they have money. We can interpret that her theory or quote, is true because when people have money, they see that as an escape from responsibilities and are less encourage to work because they already have money. Jacob makes a point in her article when she says, "These people might want and might make an effort, but not the same pressure to earn enough to live on (para. 4)." She's saying that not all wealthy people don't try to do more out of life, but not as much as people who are not wealthy. Based on this, we can say, if these wealthy people were poor, they wouldn't be able to live off of the earnings they would get because of the lack of effort. If you lazy and don't want to strive for more in life, you are going to only rely on your money to keep you up. And what happens when you don't work, but you continuously spend money; you will run out of money; Therefore, that will cause a bad effect on your happiness because you won't have nothing if your money's gone. So we have an equation of where money causes laziness that will soon cause poverty, and then a decrease in happiness.

As discussed above, we already discovered how wealth causes laziness in people live, but money isn't the entire reason of why wealthy people are lazy. Wealthy people neglect psychological planning; meaning they do not plan when it comes to family or personal issues. This can be a problem because of the lack in psychological planning and more focus on financial problems. There are two issues regarding the lack of psychological planning according to Jacob, "The first is the focus on financial too much (para. 8)." This can be a problem because it can form laziness because of the dependent on money and there will not be any balance in the home. If there is only financial concerns in the home, then families won't have anything to talk about and will soon be effective in parenting and in relationships. We see a connection because earlier in the essay, I stated how wealth can affect children and now we see how if the parent is setting that role model of being lazy, then the kids will grow up just like that. The second issue is "ingratitude (para. 10)." Ingratitude is an attitude of entitlement based on fear and anger according to Jacob (para. 10). This would be a problem because it can lead to low self-esteem, insecurity, and self-doubt. If you never been able to develop a certain skill, how are you supposed to be proud of yourself is what Jacob means with this issue. We can interpret that with the lack of pride in oneself, how are they supposed to be happy if they do not turn to money, because that is the only thing they have. Based on this article, we can conclude that people who are not wealthy, would never understand the true meaning and consequences that comes with wealth because they were taught to value themselves and have confidence, as for wealthy people, they were only taught what money is and what it is for.

If wealthy people were taught to just value money, than poor people would be considered wiser and smarter because of the intelligence they were raised on. This is just like saying, if rich people were raised on just money and not jobs, then poor people are much more likely to work and be less lazy than wealthy people. It is said that in societies, poor people are poor because they are lazy and don't work to better themselves, while wealthy people work hard according to Foster (para. 1). So we can see how wealthy people try to flip the switch and make it seem as if they are the ones working hard. But how are they working hard, when they don't have a job or they have a job but barely do anything? According to Foster, "poor people work more than 40 hours a week and are still struggling (para.3)." he explains to us that even though poor people are working 10 times more than rich people, they are still not as rich as those who have money and don't work. This shows us that poor people are working to better themselves by working their asses off, as wealthy people just sits there and look down upon ordinary people as the slaves of modern-day society. So based on Foster article, we can definitely back up the fact that wealthy people are lazy because of how much poor people work compared to them. The fact that wealth can cause laziness in a person can tie back to my claim because if you're lazy and not doing shit with your life, how do you know what happiness is. If you are too lazy to strive for more in life, then you will be too lazy to find happiness in your life.

Money play a part in happiness some how, some way...
